I have created many commissioned works since 1989, fulfilling the challenge of each piece with pride. I am also an employee of Weta Workshop Limited, which limits my ability to take on private commissions.

Tell me about the sword you want

To get started on a commission, contact me and tell me about the sword you want.

  • As many details as possible about the item (I can help with this), a sketch or scaled drawing, and an indication of your budget.
  • References for a particular period sword in a publication on period swords please quote it. I may have the book also, or would ask that you provide a copy of the extract.

IMPORTANT: Due to copyright and contract issues, I am unable to make swords that look like, or are closely based on, those used in the Lord of The Rings movies or any other project subject to copyright.

How long does a commission take, and commission changes or cancellations

If I have accepted your commission we will work together over the time the commission takes. When your commission comes up in my wait list, the commission process takes 3 to 9 months. The longer period is for specialty or embellished designs. Please note that:

  • We can alter and refine the design up to the time I start work on the metal, after that there would be a charge to cover the costs incurred.
  • If you must cancel the commission, I will refund your money less any costs already incurred.
